Sound!

I have been without music at work for almost a week. In the midst of excitement from purchasing all of the new CD’s, my speakers at work went out. No amount of troubleshooting from myself, they guys in my office, or the IT guy seemed to locate the problem. I was stuck in the monotony of silence for far too long. Then today, the employee whom I have the most problems with, Limon, was so excited that I called him my friend yesterday that he brought in huge speakers- and even hooked them up for me. He still sucks, however Jack Johnson is singing me good morning with Banana Pancakes now… Life is good.

I learned a valuable lesson this last weekend. Just because you are able to drive at 100 mph, law enforcement still frowns upon it. Got a ticket on my way to Palm Springs. After digging through my bag of clothes to find my license with an incorrect address, I continued to go through my glove box (the entire time the officer leaning through my passenger window waiting) for a non-existent vehicle registration (I can’t remember what I did with it- I have to have it somewhere…) and had to settle on proof of insurance only. I noticed after he had [finally] taken my paperwork back to his car that I had left a lacy bra lying across my front passenger seat… great, this could be no more humiliating… however, the officer was nice, and wrote that I was only going 85 mph on the ticket. No reckless driving tickets for me, however traffic school will not be a fun way to spend one of my few Saturday’s off.

I have come to the conclusion that cars- scratch that- everything is ridiculously expensive in California. I stayed over last night with one of my girlfriends, Dirty Sanchez, who lives very conveniently close to the toll road, and rather inconveniently far from the traffic filled I-5. But I had to pay $4 to take this more convenient 5 mile stretch of road. Crazy. Yes, I’ll pay the valet $20 plus tip at the mall during Christmas, but ask me to shell our $4 to get to work without sitting in the parking lot of a freeway, and I’ll find issues with it. The thing is people pay this daily, each way. The pure cost of commuting to work requires one to obtain a healthy raise. Add this to the average cost a gasoline to be around $2.65 a gallon for regular; Parking permits that are required when living in any of the beach towns – lest you need to plug the meters 7-days a week - that run around $80/ year; plus any accumulated tickets received… dear Lord… when does it end...

So in my little part to help anyone save money…
here you go. Don’t ever say I never gave you anything…
