I love cocktailing!
I hope everyone had a delightful Christmas holiday…
I started off mine, as previously mentioned, cocktailing at Beach Chic’s restaurant. I had a great time. As Beach Chic kept telling everyone all weekend long “OCG was the hit of the party.” The other cocktail waitress would go up to get drink orders from people and they would ask for me… very flattering…
I had one older guy, Pog (Persistant Older Guy), hone in on me as soon as he walked through the front door, and all night he was horribly persistent in asking me out (specifically to breakfast the following morning) and for my phone number. I finally told him I had a boyfriend and would be leaving to go to spend Christmas with him and his family in Northern California (I later told Beach Chic she was almost officially my boyfriend now)… So Pog then asked if I could go to lunch with him this week and continued to ask for my phone number. He never got it…
One cool guy (was going to refer to him as OCG, but as that’s my name… it doesn’t work out too well, so we’ll call him… Brad) walked in with his friend. In deciding which of the two of them were going to pick up the bar tab they played a best of three riveting games of rock/ paper/ scissors. I loved that and immediately knew that we would get along just fine. I was sassy to Brad (and everyone else) all night long (I love love love cocktailing).
At one point Brad was standing under mistletoe in a doorway next to one of his boys. I walked up and teased him about needing to watch out where he was standing or else he would not only be buying everyone drinks, but making out with his boys as well. He looked up, turned his head and pointed at his check. I leaned in to kiss his cheek and he quickly turned his head back… allowing me to plant one right on his lips. I kind of liked it, even as much as I overreacted, feverishly wiped off my lips and told him otherwise.
Later Brad scratched my back for about five minutes as I stood there enjoying every moment of it, listening to him and his friend apologize if their group was assholes. I assured them that none of them were and it was pretty much the same scene if I gathered 150 of my closest friends and decided to kick it for a pre-Christmas party.
By the end of the night we had this large group intoxicated and feeling the holiday spirit pulse through their veins… Brad and a couple of others came up as I did some paper work and continued to give me tips although their tabs had been closed out and generous tips had already been given. Brad gave me a hug goodbye thanked me and gave the other cocktail waitress a hug goodbye. He pulled away from her, told her that her hugs weren’t as good as mine and gave me another one… he departed never asking for my phone number… but if Mr. Claus had his ears peeled this last weekend, he knows what my Christmas wish was for…
Beach Chic and I loaded all of ourcrap necessities into her car and headed up to Danville… arriving about 8:30am. We had consumed so many big cans of Rock Star on the way up and sang Kelly Clarkson so incredibly loud that we were wired and our voices were strained. It was a great road trip. We split a bottle of wine to calm us down enough so we could crawl in bed for a brief nap around 11:30am.
The entire weekend was awesome… Christmas and great family time (even if it wasn’t mine) was wonderful. I kicked it around Berkeley yesterday morning and enjoyed a Cali town with actual character… who knew?
Hope all of your Christmas wishes came true… here’s to hoping all mine shall as well… cheers!
