Homeward Bound...

I will be heading first thing tomorrow morning to Portland, where it is supposed to be uber cold all weekend and possibly snow. I am very excited... although going through my closet and pulling out my cold-weather clothes last night, I have realized I don’t have many anymore. Monday it was 85 degrees here… this morning when I checked Portland’s weather it was 22 degrees. A bit of a difference, to say the least. I hope to motivate at least one of my friends to go snowshoeing with me… I’ll see if I can get them off their arses. I haven’t seen snow in years, and am excited to frolic in it with my dog (that lives in Portland with my dad).

I have been contemplating moving back to Portland, I think a weekend there that is clear brisk and cool, sans rain will almost convince me that I should. Although, strangely, I had a dream last night that some girl (I can’t remember whom) was telling me that she was hardly able to live through the 50-straight days of rain they had the last few months… that may be enough to remind me why I don’t live there now.

I also had a dream last night that I was with this Italian guy, oddly I don’t know him out of my dream, however he wasn’t faceless, I still remember what he looked like. He had a small daughter and I was excited to have her as mine and I was looking forward to having out little tan babies (in my dream I was hoping they would get my blue eyes). This is very unlike me. I do not think (or dream) of such things. Is this what turning 30 does to you? Oh God, please… no.

Speaking of kids, I have a nephew, Jordan, who is three years old. He is the cutest thing ever, blond hair in a faux-hawk and big blue eyes. Yesterday I received an email from my mother:

A family 'funny' Jordan has decided he wants to change his name to something other than Jordan. He chose "Josh" first and was told that wouldn't work [Jordan’s older brother’s name is Josh]- his latest choice "Diego" - isn't that a hoot? He is SO funny! A blonde-hair, blue-eyed, "Diego"...

By tomorrow evening I will be home hanging out with my mama, my sister and of course, Diego… enjoying the brisk air, drinking great beer and hopefully wading though snow banks.

You know I can’t go anywhere without my computer so I believe I shall also do some posting while gone. I have to do something on the plane, and writing blog entries always occupies my time well.

I lived in Snow in New York, PA and NJ...I Do not miss it! Eww I hate the snow! Digging your car out sucks!

I feel Diego's pain...I wanted to change my name when I was little too! I was the only boy with the name Stacy that I knew...I still don't like it.

envious- always wanted to go to Portland, heard so many good things about it and people say i would love it blah blah- AND just had to cancel (postpone) a trip to SF and Tahoe (being in FL you can understand the pain)- cant go w/out snow for a season- sigh. 11 months of 90+ degrees w/110% humidity and flat and swamp and waves every blue moon gets old too- JRL

Stacy- Aofall, I am an ass…. Sooooo sorry about what I said yesterday…

Bofall I am glad that I am not in snow 24/7 (I appreciate my warm wintered days) but a little frolicking by choice, never hurt anyone. Although no one will drive me up nor go snowshoeing with me as [apparently] yesterday morning it was 21 degrees below zero with wind chill…

Bracknontraveling- You are indeed horribly missing out by not being here… it rocks. By far one of the best cities I have ever been in… might even move back…

los- I will pass on that this name came highly recommended…
    ;-)
    sicko for sure…

sh- fo sho my brutha… I am in some serious need of some Black Butte Porter.

Sizz- I will do everything in my power to get some snow pics a-comin’… the biggest downfall is that I am under the mercy of everyone else to have transportation here… I hate that.

HM- I can not believe how hard the wind is blowing nor how cold it is!

tld- yup ;-) I CAN NOT wait to see you and your pregers tummy!!!

HM- I read “hottie” other than that all I heard was “blah relationblah blah” (ala Charlie Brown)

Arm- I assure you Ptown is awesome! I can’t believe the crazy weather ya’ll have been having this year! Stay warm!
