Domestic Diva...

Generally if my friends come over to my house, they know if they even think that hunger might strike, they need to bring food over... or we will go out to eat. Whenever JP flies into town she will stop at the store on the way to my house to ensure that she has at least a few things to nibble on. If you want something… anything really… to drink, we have you covered… beyond that you are on your own.
Last night I decided to try this thing called “cooking”. I have seen my roommate use the oven to cook, and in fact I used it this last weekend to heat up pre-made appetizers for the party at our house. Please don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t know how to cook.

Also when you busy your body with cooking and cleaning, they are both viable reasons to not do homework. It truly is amazing how clean my room is, everything in the closet ironed, all laundry done, house vacuumed and now food being made… all in my mind as important and viable reasons as to why I can’t get to my homework “right now”.
So last night I stopped by Trader Joe’s on my way home purchasing the ingredients needed for the various recipes I had printed off while at work. (I had a free moment, I swear.) Only to find out the TJ’s doesn’t carry lasagna noodles… (why is that?!?) So I headed next to Albertson’s to get the few requisite things left to purchase…
I always worry while preparing lasagna that I am not going to have enough of one thing or the other… so of course I over-prepared everything. I ended up baking two full pans of lasagna. I will be eating lasagna for days… if anyone wants to come over for dinner, just let me know… bring your friends… I have plenty.

The lasagna was done, my roommate came home we chatted… and amazingly I got not one shred of homework completed… sad sad sad. But through school I am learning a few very important things… such as how to cook and clean (and not just pretending to while wearing a little sumthin’ sumthin’ outfit) and the art of procrastination… although I do believe I may have my doctorate in that already…

I have a friend like that. It's just accepted that he'll never have anything to eat, not even snacks.
Love the raking stones ref. Very well-written post, OCG.

Bone- Well at least now I can offer people lasagna... not quite a "snack", but at least something for them to nibble on...

Nice to see you again!
Sizz- TJ’s has Every. Other. Noodle. On the face of this planet. (I swear I am not exaggerating!) Yes, they def lack in certain areas…
It really is like a personal therapy section… like ironing… as I rarely do either, it might explain a lot…
HM- Seriously… your hyperbole will get you everywhere…
